Description
Using a lash degreaser is essential for preparing natural lashes before applying eyelash extensions. It removes oils, dirt, and residue, ensuring better adhesion of the extensions. Here’s how to use it:
What You’ll Need:
• Lash degreaser
• Microfiber brushes, lint-free applicators, or cotton swabs
• A lash brush or spoolie
• Clean, dry lashes
Steps to Use Lash Degreaser:
1. Prepare the Area:
Ensure the client is comfortable and lying down. Use an under-eye gel pad or tape to secure and isolate the lower lashes.
2. Dispense the Degreaser:
Apply a small amount of lash degreaser onto a microfiber brush or lint-free applicator. Avoid soaking the applicator, as too much product can drip into the eyes.
3. Clean the Lashes:
• Gently brush the degreaser onto the natural lashes, focusing on the lash line where oils tend to build up.
• Use a second, dry applicator to remove excess product and ensure the lashes are not overly saturated.
4. Brush Through the Lashes:
Use a clean lash spoolie to comb through the lashes and separate them while ensuring they are evenly coated with the degreaser.
5. Allow to Dry:
Wait a few seconds for the lashes to air dry or use a fan to speed up the process. The lashes should feel clean and free of residue before proceeding.
6. Proceed with Lash Application:
Once the lashes are clean, you can continue with priming (if needed) and applying eyelash extensions.
Tips:
• Avoid getting the degreaser in the client’s eyes. If contact occurs, rinse with saline or water immediately.
• Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific degreaser you’re using.
• Use a minimal amount to prevent over-saturation, which could compromise adhesive effectiveness.
Properly cleaning and degreasing lashes is a crucial step for achieving long-lasting eyelash extensions.
